F.O.C

Festival of Colors!

Hare Krishna! So this past weekend I traveled down to Spanish Fork for the annual Festival of Colors at the Hare Krishna temple. Oh man it was craziness! Every year in March there is a huge religious celebration where they throw colorful chalk everywhere, on everything and everybody. It was awesome!

It seemed a little Woodstockish ha ha. There was mud and litter everywhere, but no one cared.  People were crowd surfing, dancing and chanting to Indian music. We got covered in the colorful chalk, bright oranges, yellows, purples, pinks and greens. My hair still has hints of pink in it. The huge throwing was the best. Everyone threw all their chalk up at once, I couldn't see or breath, but I imagine that it looked amazing, and we were all totally covered head to toe after that.

Pictures to come!

Draft SNC Treatment

Draft Treatment

Stokes Nature Center
435-755-3239

Starting in March of 2011 it is proposed that Stokes Nature Center (SNC) launch a public service announcement campaign.  This will be accomplished through TV and radio ads airing throughout Cache Valley.

SNC’s mission is to provide opportunities for students of all ages to explore, learn and develop appreciation and stewardship for our natural world.  By using audio and visuals showing excitement thru education of the environment, residents will become aware of the SNC and its various activities.

The reach of this project would be students, parents and teachers.  We want to motivate all ages to come visit the SNC.  Through the radio and television commercials we want to help students understand that they can make a difference in our world today.  It doesn’t matter how old or young, everyone and anyone can make a difference.

For the future of our planet we must start now to educate our children so that our world will be not only be appreciated but preserved for our posterity.  Our aim is to reach out to parents, teachers and community leaders  to promote impact and encourage students to visit the SNC.

Here at SNC we want the community to become involved and educated of our environment.  It is important for the community to be involved in what is happening in their neighborhood, city and county.  Taking visits at the SNC helps to provide that education needed to not only help and impact themselves but it also helps them learn how to treat the environment.  Seeing the world through a new perspective is our goal here at SNC.

These ads will run on various local stations throughout Cache Valley as well as during news broadcasts on channel 2, 4 and 5 on TV.  The total cost for this public service announcement campaign is $7,000.

Stokes Nature center is a non-profit organization.  Located just a mile up Logan Canyon, Stokes Nature Center has been around for almost a century providing natural experiences for Cache Valley residents.

Utah State’s New Italian Club

LOGAN, Utah- Utah State University’s first Italian club started up this year for anyone who wants to learn Italian or Italian culture.

“Italian is not taught at Utah State, our main goal is to have a professor come teach here,” Mcgregger said.  Wyatt Mcgregger, vice president of the club served his mission in Italy and decided to form the club with other friends who speak Italian.

The Italian club meets every Tuesday from four to five in the afternoon.  They teach grammar principles and language.  Mcgregger said they plan on inviting Italians from Cache Valley as well as having Skype sessions with native Italians.  “We definitely plan on visiting many of the Italian restaurants around town,” Mcgreggor said.

So far the club has only had two meetings, ten people have attended already, and at least double that are interested.  The word is still trying to be spread, anyone is free to come.

Passive Income: Earning money in your sleep
Dear Mr. Smith,
I have noticed that you have written many articles recently about finances and investments.  I think you may be interested in writing something about the Cache Valley Area Investors Association (CVAIA).
CVAIA is a non-profit organization with the goal of teaching financial independence through passive income.  Investing is the main way to increase passive income.  Financial independence is achieved when passive income regularly exceeds expenses.  Passive income can then be earned while on vacation or sleeping.  Assets must be higher than liabilities for passive income to become prevalent, thus covering monthly expenses.
Preston Parker, president of CVAIA emphasizes three things to increase passive income, they are: time, assets and experience.  Parker believes that you should enjoy your job, and not just rely on it for the paycheck.
If people learn the right mentality and approaches to investing, they can all be successful in what they desire.  People should be able to spend their time doing something they love, not just a job that provides an income.  Passive Income largely makes this possible.  They practice the methods found in the ideologies of books including Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Wealthy Barber, The Millionaire Next Door, Atlas Shrugged, The Automatic Millionaire, and The Secret.
CVAIA teaches people how to increase passive income.  CVAIA embraces the Law of Attraction, Law of Abundance, and Law of Exchange.  CVAIA began in August 2007 and now has members from many geographical locations and from all walks of life.  The members come together with the same belief: that education mitigates the risks of investing.
Please fill free to contact me with any questions or further information.
Sincerely,
Maddy Jack
